DREAMGAGE

episode 01

Lae'tal Mood

It was a Sunday morning, and Samantha was washing her face. Almost gaunt, yet entrancingly precise in structure. An interesting yet uninteresting element to this occasion was that she wouldn't do so unless I was with her, in the bathroom. "Samantha— what?" I said with a hefty chuckle. "I'll be in my quarters when you're finished."

With an incredibly pale yet warm stare- she let out a hammed plea. "But Lae'tal, I need your presence."

I sprang up with a guise of energy, and an intention to figure out why she seemed to need me there during this normal act of cleansing. It was a look in the mirror when I saw something that my system could not initially process. It wasn't her.. or was it? She stood shyly using her reflection for guidance, occasionally glancing over at me whilst I used my toilet as a stool. My mind racing, yet empty— an entering of the flow. Intuitive readiness. Thankfully I felt the Cold Sun rising, but unsteady vibrations to combat from Samantha filled the air.

In less than an instant I was holding the door shut from outside the bathroom- her shrieking was sharp, desperate, as if the sonic waves intended to pierce my systems core. From under the door oozed a fluorescent void like goo which started to melt the floor tilings as they met.

I leaped back. Now, no noise- nor even the expected opening of the door. In a visceral instant I began to see Samantha's face in the ooz. An arm then branched out of the puddle as if she was crawling out of the pool. Her body now half revealed, covered in this ill ethereal shlop, I shifted my left leg back, noticing my breath whilst caressing the hilt of my blade. "How offensive?" I wondered. Not only in the creature's physicality but even socially speaking. To put on such a facade in my own abode. I felt frustration, but a granular indifference.

I don't have much, nor do I need it. All I need is my worship. All I need is the Cold Sun. Ahh, the Cold Sun. So consistent, so full.. So encompassing. Enlightening in all capacities. "Oh Cold Sun. Let our domain expand. Let us show this being the infinite sunrise." This prayerful whisper heads under my breath, for none to hear.

Lae'tal Mood exiting his home, now awaiting the Cold Sunrise on his porch. We initially see him from his right side, as he lights the cigarette in his mouth. A deep and relaxed inhale follows. Then an upward gaze and a somber smile. We now get a center shot and can see Lae'tal Mood's left arm gone. Blood seeping. Yet he is unphased. Relaxed. As the Cold Sun starts to rise, Lae'tal Mood's arm begins to regenerate.

Samantha, awaking- however in a more natural form. Perhaps she used to hold her entity in this way. Before.

"Huh? I'm.. where am I?"

Samantha wakes up surrounded by a complete white. She notices uncontrollable and unexpressive tears racing down her face while the Cold Sun begins to rise in the blank void. Within an instant of the Cold Sun appearing, a single flower emerges in front of Samantha. The Cold Sun begins to expand, soon to encompass the entirety of the picture. Darker, and darker.

"I see—an entirely unique being that I've seen before. A flower. Myself."

Samantha begins to dig the roots of the flower, and remembers her father, as if forgotten from a cycle before. With an echoey haze; "Your birth was the only blossoming in my life Samantha." Upon remembrance, she is sent flying back by an unknown force. The flowers, now an encumbering garden, continue to spawn, die, and rebirth at a rate she cannot fully perceive.

"I see so much.. yet.. It feels as if I can't see anything at all. I can feel that each flower is extremely fragile and multifaceted in its own right, overwhelming in a value. It feels.. as affirmation of what was, and will ever be. My internal thoughts serve only as a barrier here. So much cold sun. So many flowers. I can't see in front of me- yet my eyes ever so open in the dark. Why am I withering away? I don't feel any less of what I ever have been. If anything, I am only more that."

The cycle contained in this domain continued. At a point, Samantha settled, and after an amount of time unbeknownst to anything, she was realized- over and over, until able to enter the endless sleep.
